Join us to celebrate the New Year with a festive programme of Italian Concertos from the Baroque era.  We include two of Vivaldi’s finest concertos, one for cello and one for the lovely combination of violin and oboe.  Corelli’s exquisite Christmas Concerto is an essential part of any Italian musical celebration of the festive season.  The final Pastorale evokes the shepherd’s adoration of the Christ-child in music of great tenderness.

Handel travelled in Italy as a young man and worked with Corelli and other notable composers.  His splendid Gloria for soprano and strings is thought to date from that period.  We also include the haunting Adagio by Zipoli and a harpsichord sonata by Domenico Scarlatti, an amazing Italian composer, who spent most of his career at the Spanish court in Madrid.

Tickets:   £30 (premium seats, reserved)   £25 (reserved)   £20 (reserved)   £11 (unreserved)   £5 (students)
